Web Reference: "Becoming, Part One" is the twenty-first episode of season two of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the thirty-third episode in the series. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, it was originally broadcast on May 12, 1998, on The WB network. This is why I think *Surprise* and *Innocence* are the real turning point for the show. It's the moment that the viewer is torn from the catchy, quippy, MOTW show that we've come to love, and suddenly been tossed headfirst into a psychological thriller. I told Brian that I think that I might need to go back and change my ratings on every previous episode because this one deserves a 54. I must say that I am a bit nervous about next week's episode because I seemed to have used up all of the emotion that I have this week.
