His father is of British-Indian descent, and his mother has English, German, and Welsh ancestry. Avan has one sibling, an older brother named Ketan, who works as a music producer in London. Avan's father is from a Gujarati Indian family. Avan's mother has English, Welsh, German, Irish, and French-Canadian ancestry.
